“to Wake up nº5, nº6”

Ethereal and almost volatile bodies present a narrative where the awakening of a state of apathy is the central theme.

Coal drawing mixed with translucent colors reveals bodies where movement seems to have been interrupted.

 A suspended reality "awakened" by blocks of strong colors that break a state of apparent inertia.

Securing us to earth. Bases. Origin.

Traces of a recalled memory, where light and shadow compose a base-image, which remained as a sinew of a story told over time

Figurative pieces, aligned with more conceptual works, present binds to earth, roots, trinities or tarnishes of an ephemeral existence.

“Earthing”

Triangular noses, drawn as her grandpa taught her, transform themselves in triangles which define tirades as a beginning, middle and end, or as a body, soul and spirit.

This is a series of works where hands reveal fragilities and moods. Anxieties, desires and restlessness are depicted

in an expressive painting where the screen rudeness, contrasting with the idea of delicacy of esh and body.

Hands that let themselves to cross by emptiness, reinforcing the idea of constant vulnerability.

“What are they thinking about”

During the day one we’ll come across several people, some making us more curious

than others but even with people we know, that question often arises.

Fragments

"Maria Beatitude, plastic artist, was born in the north of Portugal.

She paints mostly oil on canvas and she states that her works, and the themes to which

it is dedicated, define the approach, the techniques and the materials to be used.

With an expressive gesture, sometimes a little rough, the result always ends up showing

a feminine side, antagonistically rude and delicate. Preferring to work series instead of

single frames, the artist tells stories of simple architectures but that leads us to labyrinthine

universes. Maria Beatitude’s paintings are genuine and unpretentious, sometimes

disarming, but making us ponder well beyond the displayed image."
